It was time to clean up things again. And today was the day.

Backed up all the important things to my 300Gb external harddrive (how could I have lived without such a device for so many years I ask my self quite often…) inserted the XP Professional disk cleared my partitions, made new ones and installed XP from scratch. I’m back after around 2 hours. Actually things ran quite smoothly. And my laptop feels so much happier now.

Right now I’m installing Visual Studio 2005, which is a must have for me. After that, these applications:

Lotus Notes, I’m a Notes developer after all too
Icon Sushi, to do all the nitty gritty stuff on icons
VIM as my notepad replacement (I never could get used to emacs…)
TaskSwitchXP, which is simply the best ALT+TAB replacement for windows, check it out, free and wonderful tool!
7-Zip, a free great WinZip replacement
Putty, need I say more?
WinSCP, for all those file transfers

And I decided to switch domains, as from today http://www.mobileviking.be is active, and pointing to this space. http://www.pmalog.net will stay active for quite a while after today, but in the not so far future I will redirect all trafic to http://www.mobileviking.be.
